 Child Tax CreditThe maximum child tax credit was scheduled to drop to $700 in 2005 (down from $1,000 in 2004) and then eventually increase back up to $1,000 by 2010. The new law retains the maximum $1,000 credit for 2005 to 2009. What this means to you: If you have qualifying children, you'll be able to claim the maximum credit of $1,000 per qualifying child through 2009. A Taxing Question |
